Our First Cake!

Alan and I just started a weekly cake decorating class, offered by Wilton - the industry leader in cake decorating. Oh yeah, it's official. This is fulfilling a long-time dream of Alan's and helping me learn the skills that I hope will eventually contribute to our livelihood. This week, after only 2 classes, we completed our first cake! It's actually a lot harder than it looks. We gave it to our friends, Becky and Tom, who just had a baby boy last week, and it actually tasted pretty good! In case you can't tell, it's a teddy bear.

I can't figure out how to rotate this, so you'll have to just turn your head. =-)

Wow that is so cool! It looks great! How much does the class cost?

So cute! We did a two day cake decorating class for enrichment and I LOVED it. You're so lucky that you get to take a real class. You'll have to keep us updated on all your creations!

The thing about cake decorating is that you go to all that trouble and then just cut it all up and make a big mess of your hard work. Still, your teddy bear is pretty impressive. Strong work. Question: if Wilton is #1, who's #2, and do they offer cheaper alternatives?

That is really cool. I am wondering, if this is one of Alan's life long dreams, what are his other ones? And what are the odd's that the #1 in the industry lives in Provo!

Kara! I'm so glad you found me! I didn't even know you two had a blog! And yes, we are fs. Did you know I took that same Wilton class two and a half years ago? It's pretty fun, isn't it? Your cakes are looking great! (Are you sick of the frosting yet?)
